Saturday special: Author Interview with Marina Latcko

Howdy ho there lovies, so without further ado, here's the Interview! It's a long one, so brace yourselves! Let's start off with the basics,  WHAT was it that got you interested in writing your own stories? In what stage of your life were you & what or who were your inspirations?   I have always been fascinated by writers; they were my unattainable idols, heavenly creatures. I could only admire their work, not even hoping to go in their direction. Since great books were almost impossible to get in Soviet Russia, I borrowed them from the library nearby (from where my mother fetched me on her way from work), and – prepare yourselves now – copied them in thick notebooks for further re-readings! My inspirations were and still are science-fiction writers- Bradbury, Asimov, Zelazni, Philip K. Dick, and our Russian authors: the Strugatsky brothers (sadly, both passed on now) and Sergei Lukianenko, who wrote amazing dystopian novels before S. Collins. Too bad they ar

Touch by Jus Accardo (Denazen #1)

Available as Paperback and Kindle edition Buy it here Published by Entangled publishing, November '11 bookshelves:  book-boyfriends ,  to-be-reviewed ,  best-of-ya   “If I had the ability to touch anyone else in this world, I still don't believe I'd want it to be anyone but you.”  I 'm not entirely sure what I was expecting when I started this book, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't this . Most of all, I did not expect it to be so full of action and plot twists. I could hardly catch my breath. What a nice surprise. The story:  Meet Deznee Cross, cocky seventeen year old self proclaimed adrenaline junkie. She lives her life seizing every opportunity she can find to piss off her dad, wether it's by staying out until the early hours of the morning, getting bad grades in school or hanging out wit

The secret of Ella & Micha BY J. Sorensen

The Secret of Ella & Micha (The Secret #1) Genre: YA, Contemporary romance, coming of age,  Written by: Jessica Sorensen Available as Paperback and Kindle edition  Published: October 2nd '12  Buy it here :  ''Just because it's broken doesn't mean it loses its importance and I figured i'd give it to you one day when you realized it was okay to make mistakes.”  Just after a couple of pages in, I had a feeling I'd enjoy the book, Jessica's writing style is so sweet, it's hard not to fall in love with her characters.   It didn't feel like she was trying too hard to appeal to certain audiences, her words just flowed naturally and nothing felt forced or too much. And isn't it always a little frustrating  when you come across an author who tries too hard to sound 'young and hip' and  all want to do is give 'em a stern glare, pat their back and tell them that no-one talks like that.  Seriou

Back to you BY Priscilla Glenn

Back to you        Genre: NA, contemporary romance, child abuse/neglect, YA     Written by: Priscilla Glenn    Available as Paperback and Kindle edition   Published October 20th '12 by Creative Space   Get it here :       "I always knew I would fall in love with you," he said softly, "but you were never supposed to love me back." Now as you see by the rating alone, this one's quite high up there, especially because I hardly tend to rate anything higher than 3, even if I really enjoyed it. Usually my motto is, '3's plenty, no need to get rating happy! I've just seen a lot of people rating all of their previously read books above 4 and 5, completely throwing all caution to the wind.  And Fair enough, if you really liked something, show it, but doing that with ALL of your reads may quickly become insincere & misleading. If you rate all book
