Book talk - Review of Is This It? By Hannah Tovey

Ivy and Mia have been best friends since the fun, messy, hungover years of their twenties.Ten years later, Mia has it all - the man, the house, the career. Ivy is skint, single, and scared that she isn't a 'hot mess' any more - she's a walking disaster. But one night, Ivy switches her phone off, peels last night's drunken pizza off the sofa, and makes a list. A list that changes everything . . . The new Ivy has a proper job. She goes on fancy dates in wine bars. She's starting to think: maybe 'faking it till you make it' is easy? But then she meets Scott. Curly-haired, sarcastic Scott. Sh*t. _________________________________________________ Is This It came to me to just at the right time in my life. YES, it sounds awfully cliche to say, but it is true. I read the first few lines of the blurb and I was sold, just picture me standing in my kitchen shouting,  'wow, I need this'  I hadn't realised until I'd finished the book that this is ...
I N T E R V I E W                                       J U S T I N   B I E N V E N U E   A little while ago now, the Author of  ' The Macabre Masterpiece ' contacted me and asked if I was still interested in conducting a couple more interviews for my blog and if so, if I was willing to interview him, too. I replied pretty quickly and after chatting for a little while, I finally emailed him back with the questions. ( Apologies again for taking a rather long time! ) After asking what sort of questions he'd be comfortable with, we decided on just keeping it quite basic, not quite focusing too much on his books alone, but also on his journey as a self published author. So without further ado, here it is, guys, popcorn at the ready and all that! What sparked the idea for the novel A Bloody Bloody Mess In The Wild Wild West? The title sort of just popped into my ...
Dr. Susana Case, Professor of behavioural Sciences at NYIT  This was probably one of the most charming review requests I've received to date. I'm pretty keen to get started on this because I've not yet had the chance to review Poetry books, so this'll be an interesting 'change o' scenery.' Susana offered to send me a hardcover copy of ' Elvis Presley's Lips & Mick Jagger's Hips', but as tempting as the offer was, I had to decline out of fear for the well being of my book shelf! I'm not sure it could handle anymore books right now... So a PDF will have to do. (insert sad face here.) Shame though, would have made a nice little keepsake to add to the collection! If you'd like to find out more about the book, or any of her previous books, please check out the links below! That's it for now. Until next time! Happy reading.
