Bout of books 8.0 - The goals

Bout of BooksThe Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 19th and runs through Sunday, August 25th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 8.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team

Only actually just heard about this from a fellow book blogger Lauren, (check out her goals here.) and I can say I'm really excited about this AS it i'll also be my first ever read-a-thon!

Have I been living under a rock? Yes.. apparently so.

As it all kicks of tomorrow, I thought it would be wise to quickly share some of my goal!
Now I can't exactly say, I haven't been reading a lot lately.. because  that would be a flat out lie. I never go anywhere without my Kindle, however it'll finally give me a reason to finish all the books that I've still got lying around, unfinished for one reason or another.  (I get into the habit of putting down a book when things get too tough..

EXHIBIT A..
The Evolution of Mara Dryer... now I've only got about two chapters left.. but I just can't bring myself to finish, too afraid what the cliffhanger everyones been raving on about will do to me.

& Then theres also Charade by Nyrae Dawn, I'm around two quarters into the book, GREAT story, but here we are again.. I just can't bring myself to deal with what's about to happen in the next chapter..

Additionally there's Opal, Shatter Me and numerous others..

I'm such a wimp!

But no more, this Week, I WILL finish these off once and for all!

This includes Annie herself – especially now celebrity crime writer Oliver Black, is back in town. He might grace the covers of gossip magazines with a different glamorous supermodel draped on his arm every week, but to Annie, he’s always just been Olly, the man who Annie shared her first kiss with. ...

Guest Post by Jack Croxall - Pre-Halloween Special!

Time for another Special Guest Post,  Huzza!   Today's Guest Post will be from Nottingham-based Author Jack Croxal l! His new best-selling   short story X is now available for purchase from Amazon UK & Amazon US.  Halloween Guest blog – Jack Croxall I love Halloween. Not just because of the fancy dress and mischievous hijinks, but because of all the spooky stories that rear their creepy heads to give us goose bumps, shudders and, most importantly, that little something extra to think about. A gory supernatural horror is all well and good, but I find a spooky tale is all the more unsettling if it is driven by something real; by a theme or character we can relate to, or even by a situation we recognise from real life. Throughout the beginning of this year, I’d been mulling a horror story over in my mind constantly. I had a character, a claustrophobic setting and an unforgiving menace, but no actual theme – no real point to the story. Luckily thoug...
