The Fallen Star (The Fallen Star #1) BY Jessica Sorensen

The Fallen Star  Genre: YA, Paranormal Romance, Fantasy  Written by: #1 NYT best selling author Jessica Sorensen Available as Paperback or ebook Buy it here :  Published by: Creative Space in August '11 ISBN: 1461052149 Well this is one is gonna be a tough one to write, but here we go! Usually, Jessica's books are pretty high up on my list of YA favourites,  her books are sweet and usually highly entertaining, however... it saddens me to say, that I don't think 'The fallen star' is gonna make the cut. The story started out sweet and mysterious enough, and I was ready to throw myself into a new paranormal romance series.  Social outcast and protagonist Gemma walks through life unable to feel any kind of emotion, she's hollow and completely numb to anything going on around her..her family is a little on the odd side and to top it all off she seems to be on the verge of losing her sanity. That is,  unt...

Howdy ho there, fellow Readers, It is now officially August, and we're- Alright fine . ..  we know it's been August for a few weeks now, and we are ever so sorry for the long absence, but things have been a little crazy lately! (No excuses, we know, we know.) But we were hoping you'd forgive us! Regardless of our tardiness, Who's excited about the nearing end of Summer, falling leaves and heading back to the grindstone? ... Yep,  we're not particularly crazy about it either, but as Summer fades to Fall, it's not all doom and gloom her at AN because we've got some more exciting stuff coming up this month! Artistic Nonsense daily will be a hosting an Interview with Author of  Aurora: Secrets behind reality Marina Latcko   in a couple of weeks after she returns from her trip to Spain.  Now isn't that something?  (You may also follow her on Twitter here   if you like!) Sylvain v Carter on my mind (again)

I still find myself getting irritated every time I come across another reader (typically female which just makes matters worse for me) who finds ways to excuse Sylvain's behaviour (A snobby, self assured character from the Night school trilogy) Throwing things around like "Yeah, but.. but Sylvain saved Allies life twice.. Carter didn't. Or straight out comparing the two and their actions.. ''Carter was so angry when he broke up, he nearly hit her...'' Right, let me stop you right there. Has it really come to this? Comparing an angry outburst of emotions to practically raping a girl? Justifying Sylvains actions just because Carter had a enough with Allie's nonsense? Reading through those comments made me incredibly sad, but at the same time, filled me with the most violent rage. I of course, in no way, excuse Carters behaviour, but let's look at it this way, he's quite in love with the girl, they've been through a ton of st...

I N T E R V I E W                                       J U S T I N   B I E N V E N U E   A little while ago now, the Author of  ' The Macabre Masterpiece ' contacted me and asked if I was still interested in conducting a couple more interviews for my blog and if so, if I was willing to interview him, too. I replied pretty quickly and after chatting for a little while, I finally emailed him back with the questions. ( Apologies again for taking a rather long time! ) After asking what sort of questions he'd be comfortable with, we decided on just keeping it quite basic, not quite focusing too much on his books alone, but also on his journey as a self published author. So without further ado, here it is, guys, popcorn at the ready and all that! What sparked the idea for the novel A Bloody Bloody Mess In The Wild Wild West? The title sort of just popped into my ...
So it's May and I've got a couple of exciting things coming up! I'll finally be posting the review for 'Elvis Presley's Lips and Mick Jaggers Hips' by wonderfully talented Susana Case. I've been feeling quite bad about my having to leave the book (or PDF rather) for so long, but I've had a couple of papers due and desperately needed to sort myself out, but now that we've just had our last presentation yesterday, I'll hopefully be a little less occupied. Just one more deadline next week I believe and I'll have all the time in the world to throw myself into this! Secondly, I'll also be posting the review for 'Broken City' by D. D  Chant, which I also had to delay for same reasons. I'll also be working with Jackleen on some further outlining for our story. So far, we've hardly had time to move forward as both of more pressing matters to attend to, but we WILL get there. ( In the mean time, keep re-reading the little...

T  h  e    W  i  n  t  e  r     of     A   i   r     “ Sometimes you’re 23 and standing in the kitchen of your house making breakfast and brewing coffee and listening to music that for some reason is really getting to your heart. You’re just standing there, thinking about going to work and picking up your dry cleaning. And also more exciting things like books you’re reading and trips you plan on taking and relationships that are springing into existence. Or fading from your memory, which is far less exciting. And suddenly you just don’t feel at home in your skin or in your house and you just want home. Back to the safety of Mothers and Fathers, sisters and brothers, aunts and uncles, cats and dogs.  You start to think about the comfort of a number that used to be saved in your phone, and ears that listened everyday and arms that were never for anyone else, but you. But just to calm you do...

Dr. Susana Case, Professor of behavioural Sciences at NYIT  This was probably one of the most charming review requests I've received to date. I'm pretty keen to get started on this because I've not yet had the chance to review Poetry books, so this'll be an interesting 'change o' scenery.' Susana offered to send me a hardcover copy of ' Elvis Presley's Lips & Mick Jagger's Hips', but as tempting as the offer was, I had to decline out of fear for the well being of my book shelf! I'm not sure it could handle anymore books right now... So a PDF will have to do. (insert sad face here.) Shame though, would have made a nice little keepsake to add to the collection! If you'd like to find out more about the book, or any of her previous books, please check out the links below! That's it for now. Until next time! Happy reading. Review request by D.D Chant, Author of debut Novel 'Broken City'

Review request by D.D Chant, Author of debut Novel 'Broken City' Message from D.D  message 11:  by  D.D. 3 hours, 36 min ago Hi Cait! I have 3 novels that I would love you to review, they are:  Broken City ,  Fracture  and  The Promise , I can provide e-book copies through smashwords if you're interested. :-D  -  I've been a little busy these past couple of weeks and work has been quiet, but with the new week comes new strength and energy, right?  RIGHT.  This Monday has already been a blast so far, the exhibition I went to earlier was pretty successful (plus, free wine and nibbles are always an added bonus to the fun) and my inbox has been pilling up with review requests all day! Can you say,                            happy face?  It's just really great to be around so many like minded people. We should all ju...

Collaboration with Jakleen Oltremari (Cue excitement!) So it has finally been confirmed that I'll be collaborating with the incredibly talented Jakleen Oltremari this month.  (for anyone wondering, Jakleen is an aspiring author from Guam, a little island in the pacific ocean.)  Yep, so that's happening. So after feeling almost drunk with excitement for the past couple of days, we've finally managed to work out a few of the character backgrounds. Can't say much about the idea yet, but we'll keep you updated once we've outlined the story a little further!  But fear not, we have a little teaser at the ready and we're eager to share with you guys! ( remember, it's still very early on, so this is really just a non edited draft!) More exciting updates to come! Teaser: She said, “I’m not good enough for you,” Well maybe that was true in some alternate universe where the sky was green and the grass was blue and cars h...
